Since my childhood, I have developed a strong interest in reading, even though I wasn't the type of student praised by adults. My educational journey included multiple school transfers, experiencing two transitions in junior high and three in high school. My parents never bought seasonal uniforms as they couldn't be certain whether I would change schools again. However, these challenges didn't extinguish my passion for learning; instead, they fueled my determination to study harder. Thanks to the continuous support of my parents, I successfully graduated from the University of California, Irvine.
During my first year of college, I founded a study abroad company in the United States. In the second summer of my college years, I returned to Taiwan and established another study abroad company. However, disagreements with my business partners led to the painful experience of entrepreneurial failure. Nevertheless, these setbacks only strengthened my life goals and principles.
Upon returning to Taiwan, I swiftly immersed myself in the local community, assisting a high school in recruiting its first foreign teacher. This milestone achievement not only internationalized the school but also enriched the learning experiences of its students. During this period, I actively served teachers, continuously expanding educational services from the initial English after-school program in one school and one foreign teacher to offering courses in over 40 schools across Taiwan, dispatching nearly a hundred teachers. This not only met the schools' needs but also provided high-quality educational resources to a greater number of students.
Positive feedback from schools and students, coupled with their sense of achievement, further confirmed that the path I had chosen was correct. Understanding the loneliness experienced by individuals abroad, I regularly organized Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Lunar New Year banquets to express gratitude to teachers who tirelessly worked on the front lines. This not only strengthened team cohesion but also demonstrated respect and care for educators.
Gradually transitioning into the field of public welfare, I adhered to the principles of education equity, high quality, and affordability. Expanding resources and building connections, I became deeply involved in international education after serving as a committee member for youth counseling. I actively promoted online and offline courses, facilitating the exchange of foreign students with Taiwanese schools. I firmly believe that through bilingual education, we can cultivate more individuals with international perspectives, enhancing Taiwan's global competitiveness.
